This rewind was symptomatic of a disease that would come to plague YouTube Rewind for the coming years, which is the peddling of empty virtue signaling that does nothing for the groups it pretends to be advocating for. From there, we watch a bunch of people randomly dancing and smiling to whatever pop songs were popular that year until we return to the same rainbow-painted wall with more people randomly dancing and smiling in front of it. The video opens up with Lily Singh - who wouldn’t come out as bisexual until 2019 - dancing along a wall painted in the colors of the rainbow Pride flag. This could only last so long, and 2015 was the year that YouTube went fully corporate and dove headfirst into the digestible, politically correct deep end. This heightened subjectivity would inevitably lead to hurt feelings, but you can see - for at least the first few years - YouTube did its best to hold it all together. When YouTube decided to move away from the simple, objective model of previous years, it adopted the burden of having to consciously choose what to include - and, more importantly, exclude, from its rewinds. It was simplistic and only highlighted the most viewed videos of the year. In its infant stage, it was much more like a Spotify Wrapped than the disaster we saw unfold in 2018. With that being said, YouTube Rewind used to be a lot better. The music was always boring, the dancing is uncomfortable to watch, the transitions are corny and there is always a late-night host or two to make you say, “what is he even doing here?” So 2016 has been a great year for all of us! And I have something exciting that is coming up that non of u will know! Take a look at this.No one ever thought that YouTube Rewind was that great. He was one of the first people I met on MCA and has always been a great friend! So go ahead and follow that person! He has helped me make me the person I am today! And has helped me through tough times, he's always been there for me whenever I need him. This person has been more than an inspiration to me or a good friend. Those people there are either a great builder or a great friend! But there is 1 more person I need to mention. I used to be the person sitting at the back of the classroom just watching for a whole lesson! But now I'm open minded I can chat to people without being afraid! This community has basically changed my life! I would like to give an extra special thanks to these people. This community has been amazing for me! When times have been hard and stressful for me u guys have motivated me! It's given me confidence, motivation and much more! I used to be very quiet. This! Incase u didn't know that's the dragon statue that is in the brand new MCC Network lobby that I'm making! There is a big difference there! I have improved a ton on my building! And that isn't from just me building a lot, it's also from u guys! Some people on this community are absolutely amazing at building! Especially AlienDude3379! People like him have inspired me! Given me more ideas for building! It has helped me make the man I am today!Īnd if u have read my bio u will know that my dream job is to be an achritect! And before I came to this community and before I started playing Minecraft I did not know a thing about building and designing! But thanks to mcpe, this community, and u guys, u have made me better at designing stuff on Minecraft and in real life!
